AA 4 Stars Guest Accommodation

The Cammarch Hotel

We offer you a warm and friendly welcome to The Cammarch.   Situated in the village of Llangammarch Wells, in Mid Wales our wonderful AA 4 star guest accommodation is set in stunning countryside and close to Builth Wells, Brecon Beacons National Park and just over an hour away to the coast and Aberystwyth.  It’s a great place from which to explore and enjoy the immediate surroundings and the rest of Wales.

We have been busy refurbishing and  our guiding principle has been to ensure we provide our guests with a homely and comfortable stay combined with excellent food.  So we have excellent beds, luxury towels and toiletries and a fabulous breakfast using local produce where we can.  Our local butcher provides us with award winning sausages and bacon of the highest quality cut extra thick for us.  We pride ourselves on providing good food, good beer and good company.

Built in traditional Welsh stone, the ground floor consists of a cosy restaurant for residents with a log burning stove and a lounge in an adjoining conservatory overlooking the stunning gardens where you can relax before and after dinner.  Also on the ground floor we have a separate public bar with a sitting room, a room with a pool table, darts and traditional quoits and a dining area in another conservatory. You will get to meet the locals who enjoy meeting our guests and they are a mine of information about the local area. The quality bedroom accommodation is spread over the top three floors consisting of 12 comfortable ensuite bedrooms of which 2 are family/friends suites each comprising two bedrooms with independent bathrooms

The Cammarch is a hidden gem, a place where you can relax and enjoy some peace and tranquillity.  The garden is magical, especially for children, with the river running around the edge it’s perfect for a paddle or to fish from our own small beach found under the spreading chestnut tree.  For the serious fisher we do have about 4 miles of fishing rights on the river Irfon where you can fish for Brown Trout, Atlantic salmon, Chub and Grayling.  For the more energetic guests, we have boules and croquet and there are some scenic walks around the guest house.

We were very pleased to be selected as a finalist in the AA Friendliest B & B of the Year Award for 2012-13. The Cammarch was recognised for its dedication and commitment to setting and maintaining exemplary standards of hospitality and care.

We were visiting the area for a family celebration on the Saturday afternoon and evening and stayed at the Cammarch on the Friday and Saturday nights. We had dinner there on the Friday evening. We had time to visit Brecon on Saturday morning (approx. 30 mins drive) before the family celebrations.
